In addition, the Hospital provides a full range of clinical support and other services, such as:
- Medical Records, Housekeeping, Food Services, Transport, Laundry, Security and Facilities Management.
- Administrative Services in the areas of Finance, Supplies Management, Management Information, Human Resource, Quality Improvement, and Public / Patient Relations.
- Educational services, including Continuing Education for Medical, Nursing & Allied Health staff; Nursing Preceptorship and Internship for students from the College of the Bahamas; the training of 4th and 5th year medical students, Medical Interns and Medical Electives from the University of the West Indies and other accredited universities.
- Collaborative Research Programmes with the University of the West Indies and other accredited universities.
Other services offered to outside agencies include Cadaver Storage / Autopsies, Community Laboratory Tests and Physiotherapy as well as referrals from the Turks & Caicos Islands.
The Princess Margaret Hospital has extended its physical space beyond the main compound on Shirley Street to additional accommodations on the corner of Collins Avenue and Rosetta Street. This site houses the Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology sections of PMH’s laboratory, Rehabilitative services and the Paediatric Neurodevelopment Services.
The Hospital’s main compound provides space for National Emergency Medical Services’ central Ambulance Base in Nassau. It also accommodates the offices and warehouse of the Materials Management Directorate of the PHA.
