Rand Memorial Hospital

The Rand Memorial Hospital, located in Freeport, Grand Bahama, was originally opened in 1969 as a private facility known as the Grand Bahama Clinic. This facility became a public hospital in 1971.

The hospital has a bed complement of 86, and provides general acute care as well as full-time services in selected specialties including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Nephrology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Pathology, Radiology, Dentistry and Ophthalmology. Visiting specialists provide services in Urology, Infectious Diseases, Ear/Nose & Throat, Orthopaedics and Oncology.

Rand Memorial Hospital also serves as a primary health care centre for the Freeport area.

Smoking

PHA cares about everyone's health. Patients and visitors are not permitted to smoke in the patient's room nor anywhere inside the hospital building or on the balconies. Smoking is only permitted outside the building in designated areas.
